I am the oldest sister, Christine and my family lives in
Anchorage, Alaska. We have four children (thirteen months between the
first three, and sixteen months between the last two). The kids keep us
busy but we are blessed with the family God has given us.

In my spare time, I love making our house a home. We bought
a
MAJOR fixer
upper a couple of years ago. We have done a lot of work, but it still seems
like there is a lot left. Sometimes it gets a little overwhelming,
okay a lot of the time. I do love to decorate our home. My sisters
have the advantage over me when it comes to decorating the home. Anchorage
(even though it is the biggest town in Alaska) is lacking in the variety of
home decorating stores that are available in the lower forty-eight. My options
are Pier One, Target, Wal-Mart, Fred Meyers, Michaels, and Jo Ann Fabrics.
There are a couple of other stores downtown but they are way out of my budget.
Another passion of mine is cooking and baking. Between my husband and
the three boys we seem to go through the food. We eat as organic
as possible here in Alaska. I mill all our flour, make everything I
can from scratch, flake our own oats (which is the only way to eat
oatmeal), and make most of our cleaning products.
What we lack in shopping is more than made up in scenery. It is very grand
and beautiful here in Alaska. I love living here and really could not imagine
living anywhere else. We love the independent spirit and the slower, outdoorsy
way of life.
We started this blog as a fun way to show each other the changes we make to
our homes, new recipes we find and all the little things that we miss living so
far away from each other. I hope you enjoy the blog as much as we do.
