Friday's Treat

So, I just realized that this weeks post is going to be doubled because I forgot to post about last week!! I honestly don't know where my time goes....well at least a little bit of it. The majority of my time these days is spent taking care of my darling little girl, which I wouldn't change for anything!!

Last week I made Brownie Cheesecake Bites. They turned out so good! I love anything cheesecake! I had a good recipe for brownies so I used that and made them in my mini cupcake pan. It's hard to find a recipe for a plain simple cheesecake though that doesn't have about 5lbs of cream cheese. I knew I wouldn't need that much filling so I came up with my own. Just a very basic cream cheese and sour cream mixture. I filled the cups half full with brownie batter, baked them for a bit then pressed down the center and filled it with the cream cheese batter and then baked for a few more minutes.

I don't have a picture of them, unfortunately. My husband really liked them so what I kept at the house went pretty fast:) Apparently so did the ones he took to work, which is what I
was going for!

This week I made Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cupcakes with DOUBLE frosting:)

They actually turned out to be a combination of several different recipes I found online because I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

The first one is a Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Frosting and then the second one is a Chocolate Peanut Butter Frosting. I don't think I need to tell you that these are really good because it is Peanut Butter and Chocolate and that is always good:) These are a first for me so I'm curious how my husband
's co-workers liked them!

I need to combine all the recipes somewhere so I can make these again....

Have a great weekend Ya'll!!

Happy Valentines Day!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Valentines Day. Any special plans? We don't have any. Luke has Cubbies tonight and Brian has school. I am planning on making little heart shaped cakes and maybe some hot chocolate with heart shaped marshmallows.

Pumpkin Cake

I made one of my husbands favorite cakes. Pumpkin Cake! Of course, he loves anything that has pumpkin in it.

A piece of pumpkin cake, a cup of coffee in front of a semi- roaring fire. Three kids running around wanting a bite of your piece (they inhaled their piece), spilling your coffee (why would you walk from couch to couch when you can jump). It was a perfect evening at home.

P.S. This is what I had to go though to get the semi-roaring fire.

The "little valley" is from the path we tried to keep to the shed. Obliviously, we gave up.

Next winter the wood stack WILL NOT be behind the shed.

Friday's Treat

I can't believe it is Friday again already! Where does the time go??? I have had a very busy week but was determined to make several things to make up for last weeks failure. :)

First I made Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookies.....these are one of my husbands favorites! And really one of my favorites too. I make these cookies all the time but not always with the peanut butter.

Then I made Chocolate Covered Pretzels...who doesn't love chocolate covered pretzels?

Last week I told you about the Rice Krispie Treats I had made. I decided to cover them in chocolate instead of mixing it in...makes them look "fancier" ...haha...they turned out really well. When my husband was taste testing (because he says that is his job in the kitchen :) ) he kept saying " those are really good rice krispie treats ".

And of course I wouldn't have been able to do it all without my little helper! She likes to "talk" now so she jabbered on and on the whole time we were in the kitchen....sooooo much fun!!!

So another Friday is here with a very happy husband sent off to work with lots of goodies for him and his co-workers to enjoy throughout the day.....

Have a great weekend Ya'll

Friday's Treat

So, friday's treat......it was a failure this week!!! I know, I can't believe it either:) I didn't even take a picture because it looked soo pitiful. I made coffee cupcakes with whipping cream frosting.
I have a cake recipe that I just love, it always turns out perfect. Except for this time and I have to blame it on the fact that I just can't leave well enough alone! I tweaked the recipe to make it coffee and while it tasted amazing, the cupcakes fell:( My husband said he wanted to take them anyways because they still tasted good but I wouldn't let him...he kept telling me to not throw them away because he would eat them even though they were "ugly"...lol...Next week will be much better!!

On a bright note I did make some amazing rice krispie treats earlier this week with butterscotch and chocolate. I have a new idea on how to put them together so the next time I make them I will show ya'll.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!!
